The Sports Weekend in One Line
This is the biggest sports weekend Las Vegas has had all year, and the two headline events happen in the two buildings that are hardest to leave. A world welterweight title changes hands or does not on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena, the Raiders open at home on Sunday afternoon, and there is Triple-A baseball in Summerlin on all three nights. Three events, three very different evenings, and one of them is genuinely easy to combine with a show.
Saturday: Garcia defends the welterweight title
Ryan Garcia makes the first defense of his WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, in the same building where he took the belt off Mario Barrios in February. Garcia is 27 and fighting in front of what will effectively be a home crowd on Mexican Independence Day weekend; Benn is chasing the American world title his father never won.
The card is nine bouts deep and the first bell is at 2:00 p.m., which is worth understanding before you plan the day. That is the opener, not the main event, and Garcia and Benn will not walk out until the evening. The co-main is the more technically interesting fight on paper, with unbeaten Jai Opetaia putting cruiserweight titles on the line against Noel Mikaelian.

Sunday: the Raiders open at home, early
The Las Vegas Raiders host the Miami Dolphins at Allegiant Stadium at 1:25 p.m. on Sunday, and the kickoff time is the detail that changes your weekend. An early afternoon start means the stadium empties by late afternoon and the whole evening stays open, which is not how a Raiders Sunday usually goes. Pair it with an 8:00 p.m. curtain on the Strip and you get two things done in a day.
Then the part nobody tells you. Do not order a car from the stadium: official rideshare pickup is Lot N on Dean Martin Drive, and surge holds there for roughly two hours while sixty-five thousand people reach for their phones at once. Walk back over the Hacienda Bridge to Mandalay Bay or Luxor instead, about fifteen minutes, and order from the resort rideshare zone. All weekend: the last Aviators home games of the month
The Las Vegas Aviators host the Sacramento River Cats on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, closing out a six-game series that started on Tuesday. If it seems strange that the same two teams keep playing, that is simply how baseball schedules its calendar: Triple-A runs six-game sets from Tuesday to Sunday with Mondays off across the league.
It is also the cheapest and calmest ticket of the three, in a small modern park where the seats are genuinely close to the field. The Aviators are the Athletics affiliate and have already clinched a Pacific Coast League playoff spot, so the pressure is off and the baseball is the point.

Planning Notes
Three things worth sorting first. Saturday is the collision: the fight runs into the evening at T-Mobile Arena while the Strip hosts ten Latin headliners for Mexican Independence Day weekend, so traffic between Park MGM, Planet Hollywood and the arena will be slower than any map estimates. Sunday is the opposite and the reason to build the weekend around it, because a 1:25 p.m. kickoff hands you a free evening. And Las Vegas Ballpark sits in Summerlin rather than on the Strip, a genuine half-hour drive each way, so treat baseball as the whole evening rather than something to squeeze in.
