About The D Las Vegas

The D Las Vegas is a downtown property with a clear point of view. Owners Derek and Greg Stevens grew up in Michigan, and that identity runs through the hotel in ways that go well beyond a single nod to the Midwest - from the Detroit institution Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse to American Coney Island serving Dearborn Sausage Company frankfurters with chili and secret sauce along the Fremont Street facade. The result is a 629-room, 34-story casino hotel that feels genuinely personal rather than generic.

The casino floor earns its own attention. Beyond the standard blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, pai gow, Let It Ride, and keno tables, the second floor holds a collection of vintage coin-operated machines and a Sigma Derby simulated horse racing game that predates most guests' Vegas trips by decades. The World's Largest Keno Board is also here, and a dedicated high-limit area handles guests who want more privacy with their play. The Circa Sportsbook inside the property operates on Fremont Street hours, giving sports bettors a proper place to watch and wager.

The rebranded hotel that relaunched in late 2012 sits directly on Fremont Street Experience, which means a live concert stage operates right alongside the building most nights of the week. That proximity is the clearest thing to understand before booking: The D lives inside the noise and the energy rather than beside it, and the guests who thrive here tend to prefer it that way.

The D occupies a front-row position on Fremont Street Experience, the covered pedestrian canyon that defines downtown Las Vegas. The light show canopy runs overhead, the concert stage sits immediately adjacent to the building, and the shops and kiosks of Fremont Street are steps from the lobby. Las Vegas Premium Outlets - North is just a short drive away for anyone who wants retail beyond the souvenir kiosks. The hotel's 11-story parking garage is free for registered hotel guests, which removes one of the friction points that downtown visitors sometimes encounter. Airport shuttle service is available through an outside company for guests who prefer not to drive or take a rideshare.

Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse anchors the dining lineup - the same restaurant that built its reputation in Detroit, now serving the Andiamo Grande Meatball, a 32-ounce Tomahawk ribeye, and house cannoli inside The D. American Coney Island handles the more casual end, with Dearborn Sausage Company hot dogs dressed in chili and secret sauce served at street level. D Grill and a coffee stand round out the food options on property.

The Longbar claims the title of longest bar in Nevada and mounts fifteen large flat-screen TVs along its run - a practical setup for any game day. The D Bar operates outdoors on Fremont Street with frozen drinks and bikini-clad bartenders.

The D operates as a single 34-story tower, and four elevators serve all of it. During busy periods - weekend nights especially - elevator waits stretch well past ten minutes. Guests staying on high floors should factor that into how they move through the property. It's worth requesting an upper floor specifically to get above the concert stage noise that runs alongside the building until well after midnight on weekends; earplugs are available at the front desk if needed. Rooms were remodeled at relaunch and carry contemporary finishes with Serta mattresses and HD televisions, though there are no in-room microwaves or coffeemakers as standard. The air conditioning units run loud but are effective. In-room internet access is covered as part of staying here, so guests don't need to hunt for a separate connection on arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about staying at The D Las Vegas

Is The D Las Vegas a good fit if you're visiting with a mix of ages?

The D Las Vegas suits adult-focused groups well, given the casino, bar scene, and concert stage directly outside. Guests under 21 do have complimentary access to The D Pool, but the stadium swim perk at Circa next door is restricted to guests 21 and older. The overall energy skews toward a high-activity crowd rather than a quiet family retreat.

What's it actually like staying right on Fremont Street Experience?

The D Las Vegas sits inside Fremont Street Experience rather than near it, which is a meaningful distinction. The concert stage adjacent to the building runs live music most nights, and the covered canopy light show draws crowds directly outside. Guests who want quiet should request a high floor; those who want to step directly into the action will find the location genuinely convenient rather than just marketed that way.

What's the connection between The D Las Vegas and Detroit?

The hotel's owners, Derek and Greg Stevens, are from Michigan, and the Detroit influence is structural rather than decorative. Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse is a transplant from the Detroit dining scene, and American Coney Island - serving Dearborn Sausage Company frankfurters - operates along the Fremont Street facade. The Longbar also keeps an eye on Michigan sports across its fifteen screens.
