The relative quiet of the south end is part of the appeal for guests who prefer a calmer arrival experience and a less congested casino floor.

The sheer horizontal scale of Mandalay Bay is the single thing that surprises most first-time guests. Distances between the self-parking garage, the lobby, the beach, and the far dining outlets are longer than the floor plan suggests on paper - comfortable shoes matter here more than at a compact tower property. The beach complex closes seasonally, typically from November through February, so a pool-focused visit is best planned for the warmer months. Standard rooms run around 550 square feet and include dual televisions, with the second screen built into the bathroom. Minibars use sensor technology that registers movement rather than consumption, so it's worth being deliberate about anything you pick up and put back.
