Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are back on stage, with drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, in a show that honors late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
Rush at Sphere is a live rock show called Elevate From the Norm, staged at Sphere on Sands Ave, with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson leading the band through their catalog. Drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold join them on stage.
The night doubles as a tribute to Neil Peart, the band's late drummer and lyricist. The set plays 2112 and Moving Pictures in full, then adds more favorites from across the band's records. That means the long, winding pieces fans know by heart get played start to finish, not trimmed down.
Sphere's wraparound screen and precision sound system give those guitar solos and unmistakable bass lines room to move. If you've spent years inside these albums with headphones on, this is a chance to stand inside them instead. It suits longtime fans, and it suits anyone who'd bring a friend along just to watch them lose it during the solos.
