The Weekend in One Line
This weekend hands you one genuinely hard decision and then rewards you for staying an extra day. Five separate headliners all take the stage at 8:00 on Friday night, in five different rooms, which means four of them are going to happen without you. Then Sunday, usually the night everything winds down, turns around and offers two one-night-only shows that have nothing in common. Here it is night by night, plus two daytime options that take an August afternoon seriously.
Friday, August 14
Benson Boone plays T-Mobile Arena at 8:00 p.m., and he's the only one of Friday's five in a room that size. The run from a viral breakout to arena headliner happened fast, and the show leans on the big emotional pop anthems that carried it. If scale is what you want from a Friday night, this is the pick. Whiskey Myers takes PH Live at Planet Hollywood at 8:00 p.m. for a single Las Vegas date, a 90-minute set of Red Dirt country that pulls from Southern rock and blues as much as from Nashville. It's the one Friday show with no second night anywhere on the calendar this weekend, which makes it the hardest to justify skipping. One night, and then it's gone.

Boyz II Men play The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., which is one of the more forgiving rooms on this list for a group whose whole appeal is close harmony rather than production. Three decades on, the Philadelphia trio still builds the set around the ballads that made them, and the two-night run means Friday isn't your only shot.

Kelly Clarkson brings Studio Sessions to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., a 90-minute set built around the voice rather than the spectacle. Backstreet Boys at Sphere rounds out the 8:00 p.m. logjam, playing Friday and Saturday inside the highest-resolution screen ever built. Saturday, August 15
Sin City Stones is the useful one on Saturday, and the reason is the clock. It runs 70 minutes at the X Rocks Theater inside Horseshoe with a 7:00 p.m. start, an hour ahead of everything else, so it's the rare Vegas show you can see and still make something afterward. Saturday otherwise replays Friday: Boyz II Men, Kelly Clarkson and Backstreet Boys all take their second night at 8:00 p.m. That's the practical answer to Friday's traffic jam. If two of the five you wanted are on this list, see one Friday and the other Saturday, and only Benson Boone and Whiskey Myers are genuinely one-shot.
Sunday, August 16
Interpol plays The Theater at Virgin Hotels at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, a 90-minute set from one of the defining bands of the early-2000s New York indie rock revival, and it's a single date. The Theater is an off-Strip room of a size the band would have outgrown twenty years ago, which is most of the appeal. Open to ages 4 and up.

Derek Hough brings Symphony of Dance: Encore to the BleauLive Theater inside Fontainebleau at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, also for one night, and it's the exact opposite evening: 90 minutes of large-cast choreography and live music from the Dancing with the Stars pro. The two Sunday shows start at the same minute, so this is a genuine either-or rather than a double bill.

What to Do Before the Sun Goes Down
A curtain at 8:00 p.m. leaves the whole day open, and Dig This is the least Las Vegas way to spend it. It's a dirt lot south of the M Resort where you operate a real excavator or bulldozer, with sessions running from about fifteen minutes to an hour depending on what you book. It takes ages 2 and up, with under-48-inch drivers riding along with a guardian at no extra cost, so it works as a family afternoon.

The other direction is up. Neon and Nature by Maverick Helicopters is a two-and-a-half hour hotel-to-hotel trip that flies Red Rock Canyon and the Strip with a champagne toast included, which covers both halves of the city in an afternoon. Planning Notes
Two things to sort before you book. Friday's five-way 8:00 p.m. tie is the whole planning problem of this weekend, and the way out of it is Saturday: three of the five repeat, so decide which two you want most and split them across the nights. And if you're flying out Monday, hold Sunday rather than treating it as a travel day, because Derek Hough and Interpol are both single dates and both start at 8:00, so that night is worth arriving with a decision already made.
