Carin Leon begins a four-night run at Sphere on Thursday and plays straight through Sunday, which makes it the one booking on this list you can fit around anything else. Friday belongs to Mana at T-Mobile Arena, and that one is a single night with no second chance, which is the detail that decides most people's Friday. Cristian Castro takes Resorts World Theatre on Friday and again Saturday, and the comedian Alfred Robles has a one-night stop at the Palazzo Theatre on Friday.

Saturday: the night everything collides

Saturday is where the weekend either works or falls apart, because four Latin bills run at four different properties at once. Los Angeles Azules bring cumbia to PH Live. Zoe take the Colosseum for rock en espanol. The Mexican Independence Day Concert runs at the STRAT's Swim and Social pool as a roughly four-hour daytime session, which is the only one of the four you can pair with an evening show. And Teo Gonzalez and Jorge Falcon play the Palazzo Theatre, 16 and over. If you have children along, Mago Enrique de Leon performs Spanish-language magic at The Magicians Room and takes kids from three.

Sunday: norteno and a reunion tour

Sunday splits cleanly by generation. Los Tucanes de Tijuana return to PH Live, the same room Los Angeles Azules had the night before, for a norteno set. Across the Strip at Dolby Live, Soda Stereo bring the Ecos tour, which is as close as anyone gets to seeing the band that defined Latin American rock. Neither one repeats. Carin Leon's Sphere run also closes on Sunday.

Wednesday the 16th: the actual holiday

On the day itself the Strip goes quiet, with one exception worth planning around. An Intimate Evening with Santana plays House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, and House of Blues is a fraction of the size of the arenas Santana normally fills. It's 18 and over. If your trip lands midweek rather than on the weekend, this is effectively the whole calendar.

How to build the weekend

The trap is Saturday. Three of the four Saturday bills start in the evening, so you're getting one of them, and the pool session is the only way to see two things in a day.
