Open 24 hours, the Gold Spike is all about easygoing fun and affordable booze. You'll find board games and other leisure pursuits in abundance here. In addition to pool tables and dart boards, there's hopscotch, corn hole, shuffleboard, a giant Jenga, an enormous Connect Four and a driving-oriented video game.
An outdoor area called "The Backyard" is filled with patio furniture and an Airstream trailer, which is sometimes used as a bar. Inside, a big bar with flat-screen TVs mounted all around it dominates one side of the property. In the back you'll find a contemporary grill with a full menu of offerings -- ranging from all-day breakfast favorites to soups, salads, sandwiches and even prime rib.
Another plus at the Gold Spike is its fast and free wireless internet access. With space for lots of comfy seating -- from lounge chairs to bean bags and even a bed -- you can set up your laptop and work away the day or evening in an upbeat social setting.
On weekends, the Gold Spike hosts live music and DJs.
